She was born May 7, 1930, in Kloten, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Portmann. On May 28, 1957, she married Harold Moehn at St. Elizabeth Church in Kloten, and together they raised three children.
Eileen was a traditional and wholesome housewife. She loved her family more than anything in the world and there was never a bad time for anyone to stop in and visit her. She enjoyed polka music as well as cooking, baking, canning, and gardening. Her faith was important to her and she was happy to spend time as a Christian Mother.
Eileen is survived by her children Mary F. Moehn, Thomas (Jane) Moehn, and Jo Anne Schuh; six grandchildren: Melissa (Nicholas) Kuhn, Jacob (Dakota) Moehn, Rachel (Jordan) Jahnz, Joshua (Kimberly) Moehn, Christopher Schuh, Matthew Schuh; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Mary Portmann, Carol (Richard) Mueller, and Doris Moehn; a brother-in-law: Gerald (Patricia) Moehn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her son-in-law: Jerome Schuh; her parents: Henry and Mary Portmann; siblings: Romilda (William) Kuhn, Gilbert Portmann, Norbert (Margaret) Portmann, and Andrew (Kate) Portmann; Harold's parents: Matthias and Magdalena Moehn; and in-laws: Lucille (Harry) Martin, Luella (Bob) Brooks, George (Betty) Moehn, Clifford (Florence) Moehn, Mary (Robert) Schwobe, Helen (Jim) Lucey, Matthew (Sylvia) Moehn, and Arthur Moehn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2023, at St. Mary of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church (120 Davis Street) in Stockbridge. Friends may call from 9:30 am until 10:45 am at the church on the day of service. A committal service will take place at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Stockbridge immediately following the funeral.
