HUGHES BURIAL HERE SUNDAY
Nicholas Clark Hughes, 73, of Griggsville, a former resident of Waverly, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday in Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.
Services were held Sunday, December 3 at Griggsville Church of Christ.
He is survived by the wife, the former Grace Burke; two sons, Lowell of Springfield, Carroll S. of Cahokia; one foster son, Ronnie Smith of Quincy; seven daughters, Mrs. Violet Gowin of Rockford, Mrs. Marjory Smith of Manchester, Mrs. Wanda Hollingshad of Dupo, Mrs. Bernitta Hall of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Mary Barber of Jacksonville, Mrs. Lorna Moore of O'Fallon, Mo., Mrs. Gracie Jennings of Quincy; 35 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Oscar Harford of Springfield; three brothers, Otis Flynn of Springfield; Wesley Hughes of Baldwin Park, Calif., Charles Hughes of Oregon.
Burial was made in Waverly Cemetery.
