Mrs. George W. McDevitt died at her home northeast of Waverly, Sunday morning, March 21, at 11:30, following a week's illness.
Mary Jane Boyd, a daughter of the late James and Mary A. Boyd, was born in Nevada, Mo., March 12, 1874.
On September 1, 1907, she was married to George W. McDevitt, who survives her, together with the following children: Boyd McDevitt, of Loami, Mrs. Mary Withrow, of Mt. Pulaski, Mrs. Jean Burbank, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Rodna Bickel, of Auburn.
Other survivors are two grandchildren, Carl Withrow and James Bickel; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Edmiston of Pekin, Mrs. Laura Harris of Highland Park, and Mrs. Ruth Schramm of Loami; and one brother, John Boyd, of Alexandria, Va.
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church in this city Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. Donald Lemkau of Williamsville, assisted by Rev. W. L. Humphrey of Loami, both Methodist ministers.
Burial was in East cemetery.
