Mrs. Mary Ann Boyd, an aged resident of Waverly, died at Passavant hospital in Jacksonville last Saturday afternoon at 4:40, she having been a patient there for several weeks suffering with a broken hip, which she had sustained in a fall at her home here.
Mary Ann Bicket, daughter of Gavin and Mary Ann Bicket, was born in Randolph County, Illinois, May 22, 1856, being 85 years of age at the time of her death.
She was united in marriage to James Boyd, April 10, 1873, at Nevada, Mo. To this union eight children were born. Two daughters and her husband preceded her in death.
She had lived in this community over thirty years, and was a member of the First Methodist church.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary J. McDevitt of Loami, Lena B. Harris of Highland Park, Maggie L. Edmiston of Pekin, Ruth B. Schramm of Loami; two sons, John Boyd of Franklin, and Lenord Boyd of Springfield; twenty grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson of Albuquerque, N. M., and Mrs. Ellen G. Leedy of Jacksonville.
Funeral services were held at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Francis E. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church.
Burial was in East cemetery.
