ROSS M. PADGETT
GOODLAND, May 4 -- Ross M. Padgett, 58, a farmer, suffered a fatal heart attack while driving a tractor on his farm five miles northwest of here at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. He fell from the tractor as it entered a field and the tractor continues across the field where it was stopped by Mrs. Padgett, who was nearby.
Born in Washington township, Newton county, he spent the greater part of his life in the Goodland community. He married Addie Montgomery near Kentland November 25, 1908.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Genevera Carlson, Kentland, Alvin J. Padgett, Brook, Mrs. Esta Herriman, Havana, Illinois, and Robert Padgett, East Gary, with three brothers and four sisters, Mrs. Laura Markley, Indianapolis, Herschel and Harley Padgett, Brook, Denver Padgett, Morocco, Mrs. Beulah Corbin, Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Vivian Billings, Morocco, and Mrs. Dorothy Rich, Eaton Rapids, Michigan.
