Dr. Howard Rice, 93, of North Columbia Avenue, died at 5:35 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, 1996, in Campbellsville due to an illness. Son of the late William Jordan Rice and Mariah Ellen Fisher Rice, he was born in Taylor County, Ky., Sept. 26, 1902. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, served 20 years as a member of the Campbellsville Independent School Board and was a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F&AM. Rice attended Kentucky Wesleyan College for three years and graduated from the University of Louisville Dental School in 1930. He then set up his dentistry practice in 1930 in Campbellsville. He married Evelyn Henry June 20, 1931, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Howard Henry Rice of Montgomery, Ala.; one granddaughter and two grandsons, Evelyn Rice O'Leary of Birmingham, Ala., Christopher Rice of Fitzpatrick, Ala., and Jeffrey Rice of Montgomery, Ala.; one great-grandson, Jeffrey Taylor Rice of Montgomery, Ala.; one sister, Genevieve Jeter of Lexington; and several other relatives. Funeral was 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, by the Rev. Richard Ramsey and the Rev. Gene Weddle. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Atkinson, Megan Davis, Thomas R. McMahan, James C. Miller III, Dr. Richard A. Sanders, and Wayne Wells. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. James R.
