— Mrs. Mabel Louise (Fairfield) Barker Gindlesperger, 92, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Homewood Health Center, Lebanon.
Mrs. Gindlesperger was born Jan. 5, 1916, in Thorntown, daughter of the late Joseph and Goldie (Toney) Fairfield. She was reared and educated in Thorntown.
She married her first husband, Murray E Barker, on March 7, 1934, in Thorntown. He died Feb. 10, 1966. She then married Lemon M. (Pappy) Gindlesperger April 7, 1968. He passed away May 17, 1984 in Thorntown.
Mrs. Gindlesperger lived in Pennsylvania for a short time period. She worked as a caretaker for many residents of the Thorntown and Lebanon areas for many years.
She was a member of Thorntown Baptist Church.
Survivors include son, Joseph Edward Barker; brothers, Joseph (Gene) Fairfield of Lebanon and Clancy Fairfield of Jamestown; sisters, Dorthory Ungst of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lottie Cole of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gindlesperger was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd, Jessie, Ernest and Jack Fairfield; sister, Clara Goode; and one son, Wilbert Franklin Barker.
Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home 116 W. Plum St., Thorntown. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral Home, with Lawrence Fairfield officiating. Interment will take place at Sugar Plains Cemetery in Thorntown.
