On November 21, 1936 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Elizabeth Graham of Live Oak, Fla., at that place and has since made his home usually in Florida but returned to Lamont from time to time for several months residence.
On Wednesday of last week at 1:40 pm while working at the Gibbs Gas Engine Plant in Jacksonville, Fla., he lost his life while assisting fellow workman in distress on an oil tank.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife of Jacksonville, FLa.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kapke; three sisters, Mrs. R.W. Schoenbeck, Mrs. Claude McFarlane and Jacqueline Kapke, all of Lamont; one brother Corp. Karl Kapke of Fort Knox, Ky. One sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services held at the home of his parents at 2:00 pm today. Services conducted by Rev. Englehart of the Lutheran Church. Burial at Campton Cemetery.
