Ruby Helen McFarlane was born July 25, 1909 at Lamont, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Mary Trumblee Kapke. She attended the Lamont schools while she grew to womanhood in Lamont. Ruby was united in marriage to Claude McFarlane on Nov. 27, 1927 at Lamont.
Ruby McFarlane was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Garden Club, and had been a member of the Royal neighbors.
Mrs. McFarlane died Wednesday Dec. 21, 1977 at People's Memorial Hospital in Independence at the age of 68.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one brother and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Claude L. (Sonny) McFarlane II, of Lamont, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one brother, Karl Kapke, of Lamont.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 am Friday, Dec 23, 1977 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lamont wit Rev. Connie Kleingartner officiating. Burial was in Campton Cemetery.
The Fawcett Funeral Home of Lamont was in charge of arrangements.
