Karl Leslie Kapke:
Karl Leslie Kapke, 77, formely of Lamont, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 1994, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1916, at Lamont, the son of Albert and Mary Trumblee Kapke. He attended the local schools and graduated from Lamont High School. He worked at the Rath Packing in Waterloo for a few years until World War II broke out. He served in the armed forces during the war, then worked for a few years at John Deere in Waterloo. He spent his entire civilan life in Lamont.
He is survived by his wife Lois, two daughters, one son and several nieces and nephew, including C.L.(Sonny) McFarlane of Lamont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters Florence, Julia, Ruby and Jackie and one brother, Albert.
Funeral services were held at 1 pm Monday Feb. 14, 1994, st Campton-Oak Hill Cemetery east of Lamont by Rev. James Rushton. Miltary services were conducted by Lamont American Legion Post 346.
The Fawcett Funeral Home of Lamont was in charge of arrangements.
