John Lutz, 1266 Robertson Road, Hermitage. He died at 12:27 a.m.Thursday (5-18-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He
was 81.

Mr. Lutz was born April 28, 1919, in Canonsburg, Pa., to Alexander and Magdalene Popp Lutz.

During World War II, he was employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. He retired in 1982 after 43 years as a warehouseman and truck driver for Golden Dawn Foods.

Mr. Lutz belonged to St. John's Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Sharon; and was a member and former steward for Local 261 of the Teamsters union.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Irene Beharry, whom he married Feb. 5, 1945; two sons, John M., Sharon; and Robert A., Pittsburgh; two daughters, Kathryn Minnick and Janice Scanga, both Hermitage; three sisters, Mary Boytko, Boardman, Ohio; Anne Gladysz, Farrell; and Bertha Pavlechko, Austintown, Ohio; two brothers, Joseph, Sharpsville; and Andrew, Hermitage; nine grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Myers; two brothers, Peter and Alex; and a sister, Julia Kurpe.

Burial: St. John's Cemetery.
