Service is Wednesday for Anna Gladysz, who passed away from this life peacefully after a lingering illness (1-18-15) in her Farrell home. She was 92.
She was born May 2, 1922, in Arden, Pa., a daughter of Alexander and Magdaline Pope Lutz.
Her husband, Henry, whom she married Jan. 26, 1946, died July 18, 1970, at his daughter’s wedding reception.
She was a devout member of St. John’s Orthodox Church in Hermitage and was active in parish activities. She was a member of the Mothers and Daughters Club of the parish.
She loved to cook and bake for the family’s birthdays and holidays and she enjoyed working out in the yard and in her flower garden.
She loved Jesus and devoted her life to the Lord.
Anna is survived by her daughter and caretaker, Bonnie Gray, Farrell, and her long-time companion, Jim Surles; a sister, Bertha Pavlechko, Austintown, Ohio; and two brothers, Joseph Lutz and his wife Theresa, Sharpsville; and Andrew Lutz and his wife Billie Jo, Hermitage. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Nicole Gladysz, Masury; and Michael Gladysz and his wife Stacey, North Royalton, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Evan and Ethan Gladysz; and a great-great-granddaughter, Leila Kinnear; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Henry Jr., on March 25, 2012; two sisters, Mary Voytko and Julia Kurpe; and three brothers, Alexander, Peter and John Lutz.
The family would like to thank Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to her church or Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and Palliative Care.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
