He died at 8:16 a.m. Sunday (12-2-01) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 57. Mr. Lutz was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Sharon to John and Irene Beharry Lutz.
The 1962 alumnus of Hickory High School, Hermitage, was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam.
He formerly worked as an engineer for Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.
Mr. Lutz was a member of Sharon American Legion Post 299; American Carpo-Russ Club, Sharon; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Hickory Post 6166, Hermitage.
Surviving are: his former wife, Judy Corll Lutz, Hubbard; two children, Kerrie Lynn Lutz, Pittsburgh; and Kyle Lutz, Hubbard; his mother, Hermitage; two sisters, Kathryn Minnick, Hermitage; and Janice Scanga, Sharon; a brother, Robert A. Lutz, Erie; two nieces, Paulette Gondek and Elizabeth Dawn Lutz; three nephews, David Paul Myers, Nino Scanga and Matthew Gondek; and a great-niece, Kyla Ann Bruner.
His father and a sister, Susan Myers, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Michael Lutz Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
