Crist, a resident of Radersburg, died at this place on the 21st inst. Aged 32 years. Mr. Crist was born in Herkimer, New York; gave three years of honorable service to his country in the late war; was badly wounded at Antietam, and for meritorious conduct on this and other occasions, was promoted from the ranks to a Lieutenancy. At the close of the rebellion he sought new fields of enterprise, and came to Montana. For several years he had been a successful and extensive miner at Radersburg. An honored citizen, and upright man and a valued friend, his untimely death has caused a void in the community that will be hard to fill.
James B. is the son of Isaiah and Elizabeth Ann (Fisher) Crist of Herkimer, New York. They were blessed with five children: Henry A., JAMES B., Mary Ann Mack, John H. and Charles Eugene. Neither the parents nor the children remained in New York with most moving to Nebraska. James moved to Montana and John to Iowa and then Missouri.
