Freemont Weekly Herald (Fremont, Nebraska), 12/8/1893:
DEATH OF ISAIAH CRIST. "Uncle" Isaiah Crist, known to everybody in Dodge county, died at his home in Elkhorn township yesterday morning, aged 78 years, the funeral to take place in Arlington cemetery. Few men were better known or with more friends in this section than Uncle Isaiah Crist. He has been in failing health for a year or more, and especially since the death of his aged and faithful companion, who was a true friend to everybody; their home had a welcome for all who called on them, and thier kindly hospitality will be long remembered by all who have shared it in the many years of their residence at "the lake." This much can be confidently said - he had not an enemy.

Fremont Tribune (Fremont, Nebraska), 12/9/ 1893:
