Larry was the son of the late Howard and Leona(Hill)Belcher Sr. He graduated from Shelby County Training School in Columbiana, Alabama. He also served in the United States Army as a paratrooper.After the Army he moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was employed by Uniroyal-Goodrich in Woodburn Indiana. And attended Purdue University-Ft Wayne.He helped his oldest brother Howard with the upbringing of his six children after the death of his wife,"Kate"( Mary Catherine Storey) in 1965. His neices and nephews loved him dearly.
In 1970, he married Eula King and to this union two daughters were born; Leslie Denise (who lived only ten days) and Tiffany Lynn in 1976.
After retiring with 25 years of service, he relocated to Alabama in March 1995 and lived in Calera with his brother Amos.
Among those to cherish his memory are his daughter Tiffany, her mother Eula both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, two brothers Howard Belcher Jr of Fort Wayne and Amos Belcher of Calera, two sisters Alberta(James) Hall of Shelby, Alabama and Gladys(Chuck) Steen of Clanton Alabama, 41 neices and nephews and other relatives.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother Gilbert Lee Belcher Sr. Who died on the same date only six years before and they both were 52 years of age at death.
