Pearl Irene Little was born December 15, 1909, on a farm west of Decatur. She was the 3rd of 12 children born to Naaman and Nellie (Magee) Little. Her father was a laborer in a livery stable when she was born. She and 3 of her sisters, Ruby, Opal and Eunice Garnet were named after gems! She attended school in Decatur.

Pearl married Bill McAllister on October 17, 1925, in Onawa, Iowa and they farmed west of Decatur, until they moved in to town in 1934. Pearl, in addition to being a home maker, ran a restaurant in Decatur and was a custodian at the Decatur Public School. She was a 4-H leader, a member of the Jolly Neighbors Club and an active member of the RLDS Church. She loved to garden, tend to her flowers and make doughnuts for her grandchildren.

Obituary, published in the Burt County Plaindealer, in Tekamah, Nebraska, on May 11, 1972.

Funeral services were held at the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Decatur, May 6, for Mrs. William McAllister, who died at an Omaha hospital on May 3.

Elders E. J. Severyn and Clement Sweet officiated.

Pallbearers were Victor Webster, Kenneth Wilson, Clark Beck, Johnie Beard, Harold Bacon and Gerald Bacon.

On October 17, 1925, she married William McAllister. They were the parents of seven children.

Mrs. McAllister was a member of the RLDS Church, the Jolly Neighbors Club, VFW Auxiliary and had been a 4-H leader.

Survivors include her husband and four children; William D., Naaman Paul of Sioux City, IA, Donald E. of Branson, MO and one daughter, Alma Serbeck of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by daughter Pauline Wanamaker, two sons, Jerry (Nan) and Carrol Lee McAllister and one sister Ruby Little.

Other survivors are twenty one grandchildren, four Great grandchildren; six brothers; Robert Little of Lyons, NE, Jerry Little of Sioux Falls, SD, James Little of Ridley Park, MD, Roscoe Little of Rapid City, SD, Sam Little of Boulder CO, and Bill Little of Denver, CO; three sisters, Mrs. Roland Method of Sioux City, IA, Dora Paulsness of Rialto, CA and Mrs. Harold Hall of Blair, NE.

Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.
