The daughter of Addison and Emily Peterson Means, Pansye was born 14 Mar 1896 in Knox County. She was a teacher at Knoxville Grade School and Newman School. She was a member of First Christian Church, Galesburg, the Burlington Veteran's Auxiliary, and during World War I and World War II she did volunteer work for the Red Cross.
She married Clarence Y Straub 15 June 1920 in Peoria. He survives with a daughter, Mrs. Carol Zarske, Galesburg, two sisters, Mrs. Viola Frew, Godfrey, IL, and Mrs. Alta Edwardson, Galesburg, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were held at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.
