Fred Morton, 53, a resident of the Frankfort
Kansas community, passed away at about
Five o’clock on Saturday evening at his
home. While he had been in ill health the
past few years, his last illness became
serious following a stroke suffered a few
days before his death.
Fred was born and reared in the Frankfort
community and spent all of his life here.
Fred enjoyed life and was always happy. He
was very fond of baseball and other sports.
when a young man he played baseball and
entered into the game will all he had to
give for a good clear sport. He was one
who always tried hard to win, but always
stood for fair play.
He is survived by his wife Julia; and two
daughters, Mrs. James Tyler, Kansas City,
Missouri and Mrs. L.C. Gardner, Oakland,
California; one son Fred Morton Jr. of the
Home; three sisters, Mrs. Ace VanNortwork
Parsons, Kansas, Mrs. John VanNortwick,
Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Will Jackson,
Alamenda, California; two brothers, Ever-
ett Morton, Kansas City, Missouri and
Charles, Morton, Frankfort, Kansas.
Funeral services were held at the First
Presbyterian church in Frankfort on
Tuesday afternoon with Reverend A.M.
McInnies.
Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
