Eleanor was born May 30, 1925 on the family farm in Clearfork Township, Marshall County, KS to Fred Earl and Julia Ann (Gumm) Morton. She grew up in Frankfort, KS and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1944. Eleanor moved to Kansas City to work for the war effort building parts for the Pratt & Whitney airplane engine company in Kansas City, KS. She then worked for a U.S. Naval ammunitions depot in Hastings, Nebraska. Eleanor traveled the world and was blessed to be married to two wonderful men who gave her five loving children. Later in her life she moved to Olathe in 1993 to be closer to her children. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Eleanor was active in the communities where she lived and enjoyed puzzles, bingo and visiting with friends. Her family was very important to her and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dennis Reaves and siblings, Lucille Holscher and Fred Morton, Jr. She is survived by children: Robert and Theresa Gardner of Olathe, KS, John and Pat Gardner of Lincoln, KS, Beverlee Dawson of Buckner, MO, Jan and David Maxwell of Buckner, MO and Jerry and Amy Meeks of Olathe, KS; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grand children and 1 great-great-grandson.
