NEW PALTZ: Amanda Hasbrouck, 79, of Old Kingston Road, died Nov. 9 at the New Paltz Nursing Home after a brief illness. Mrs. Hasbrouck had been a lifelong resident of New Paltz. She was born May 14, 1904, in Arlington, the daughter of Edward and Daisy Coddington Kniffen. She was married March 28, 1923 to Roy Hasbrouck, who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hasbrouck is survived by two sons; Richard and Henry, both of New Paltz; one daughter, Rachel Hasbrouck of New Paltz; two brothers; Albert Kniffen of Maryland and Walter Kniffen of Rosendale; two sisters; Elizabeth MacDowell of Kingston and Dorothy Kniffen of Accord; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the New Paltz Rescue Squad
