YORKTOWN -- Carl Milburn Maddox, 94, Yorktown, went to be with his Lord on April 6, 2004. He died at Dickey Nursing Home in Elwood after a six-month illness.

He was born May 2, 1909, in Muncie, and was a lifelong Madison County resident. He was a farmer and truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Gertrude Emily "Babe" (Weber) Maddox of Yorktown, whom he married July 1, 1936, in Anderson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don and Judy Maddox of Yorktown and Larry and Deborah Maddox of Edmond, Okla.; a daughter, Nancy Hamilton of Anderson; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Florence (Gahimer) Maddox; and four sisters.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Bell officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
