Violet E. Amerine, age 96, of Davenport, IA, formerly of Wilton, IA died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport, IA.

Violet was born November 8, 1915 to John and Ethel (Callahan) Fowler in Muscatine County, IA. She married Harry E. "Bud" Amerine on July 5, 1936 in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1977. Violet was a homemaker, worked at the Wilton and Muscatine Automatic Button Company and was a clerk at Lausers Variety Store.

Violet was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Wilton, IA and the Royal Neighbors of America. She loved listening to music, especially Lawrence Welk and working Jig Saw puzzles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. until the Christian funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA.

She was preceded in death by her sister Vera Peters, her brothers: Ernest, Paul and Wayne Fowler and 2 grandchildren in infancy.

Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, IA.
