Graveside rites for Mrs. Elna "Sis" Calhoun, 86, were held at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Olive on November 12, at 11 a.m.
Conducting the service was Rev. Stanway.
She was a native of George County and lived in Lucedale during her early years. She later lived in Hattiesburg for several years and then made her home in Knoxville, Tenn. for many years until her death November 8, 1991.
She is survived by one daughter, Elna "Sookie" Jacks of Knoxville, Tenn., one son, Charles A. Calhoun of Albuquerque, NM., eight grandchildren; one son-in-law, Bill Jacks of Knoxville; and one daughter-in-law, Paul Calhoun of Albuquerque.
Also surviving are one sister, Florence Ward of Lucedale, five nieces and six nephews. The nieces include Daisy Beatty of Reno, NV; Miriam Truesdale of New Orleans, LA, Carolyn Haines of Mobile, AL., Susan McEachern of Solona Beach, Calif., and Alexis Abrams of Los Angeles, Calif. The nephews are John M. Ward; Andy Haines, David McEachers and Bill McEachern, all of Lucedale; David Haines of Gulfport and Slater McEachern, Jr. of Houston, Tex.
