Slater Earl McEachern Services Held
Slater Earl McEacher, 66, of Lucedale died Thursday night, May 18, at George County Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday from Fails Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Dement and the Rev. Johnny Walker officiating. Interment was in Lucedale Magnolia Cemetery.
A life-long resident of Lucedale, McEachern was a retired U.S. Rural Mail Carrier and a World War Two army veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lucedale.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Willard Eubanks McEachern, Lucedale; three sons, Slater Earl McEachern, Jr., Houston, Texas; David McEachern, Bill McEachern, both of Lucedale; one daughter Mrs. Miriam Truesdale, New Orleans, La., his mother Mrs. Hulda McEachern, Lucedale; one brother Alex McEachern, Lucedale; three sisters, Mrs. Elna Calhoun, Hattiesburg; Mrs. Florence Ward, Mrs. Hilda Haines, both of Lucedale and seven grandchildren.
