LUCEDALE--Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Fails Funeral Home chapel for Mrs. Hulda Nyman McEachern, 94, of Lucedale, who died Friday morning at George County Hospital following an extended illness.

The Rev. W.R. Dement, pastor of First United Methodist Church, of Lucedale will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

A native of Nykariabu, Finland, Mrs. McEachern came to George County in 1892. She was the widow of Slater Earl McEachern and the daughter of the late Andrew Nyman and Maria Gustafson Nyman, who came here from Finland and settled in the Basin community.

Mrs. McEachern was a former clerk of the city of Lucedale. She headed a historical research program for George County and served as director of vital statistics of George County for many years.

She also worked on the George County Draft Board during World War II. She was a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
Mrs. McEachern was a graduate of Beeson's Female Academy in Meridian.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Hilda Haines, Mrs. Florence Ward, both of Lucedale, and Mrs. J.F. of Hattiesburg; one son, Alex McEachern of Lucedale; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
