Born on April 1, 1909 in Ocean, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wesley Powell and Mary Jane (Spiker) Powell Rae.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gentry on August 13, 1979; five brothers, John William, Hugh Wilson, Ernest Charles, George Homer, and Joseph Wesley Powell Jr. and three sisters, Margaret Powell, Myrtle Viola Elliott and Anna Elizabeth Logsdon.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing and the Senior Citizens of Georges Creek.
She is survived by her three sons, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a half-brother, and one sister.
Interment was held in Eckhart Cemetery.
