Retha Marie Prunty Heater was born June 7, 1923, in Arnette, Braxton County, WV, a daughter of Ira and Dessie King Prunty. She married Hugh Heater in 1939.
Surviving 14 of 15 children; Sandra (Don) Chandler, Hugh 'Bud' (Doris) Heater, Pauline (Mike) Davis, Martin (Barbara) Heater, Lois (Ted) Hicks, Barbara (Melvin) Skinner, Samuel (Sandy) Heater, Stanley (Iris) Heater, Roland Ramsey, Rodney, Sarah (Andy) Fominko, Mike and B.J. Heater, Rebecca (Jeff) Smith, and Phillip (Patty) Heater; two sisters, Pattie Helmick and Esther (Carl Ray) Blake; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren;and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Nov. 30, 2008 and an infant son, Lewis.
