Mrs. Erma Lou Prunty Smith, 51, of Roane County, Left Hand, West Virginia, died at her residence Tuesday evening after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Copen, West Virginia, a daughter of Ira Russell Prunty and Detha Dell King Prunty. She was a member of the Left Hand Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Glen Ray Smith; four sons; Marvin, Wayne, Kermit and Billie Smith, all of Left Hand, West Virginia, four daughters; Mrs. Louise Smith Wood and husband Don of Alderson, West Virginia, Carolyn Smith Donna Smith and Connie Smith all of Left Hand, West Virginia; three sisters; Mrs. Esther Prunty Blake and husband, Carl, Mrs. Pattie Prunty Helmick of Fairmont, West Virginia and Mrs. Retha Heater and husband Hugh of Hyres Run, West Virginia; four brothers; Gaylord Lee Prunty and wife Margaret of Elkview, West Virginia, Troy Prunty and wife Katie of Middletown, Ohio, Olen Prunty of Barberton, Ohio and Dennie Prunty and wife Betty of Charlotte, North Carolina and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lisa Smith
Services were held Friday, 2 PM at the Vandale Funeral Home with the Reverend Delmer Simmons officiating. Burial was in the Clover Cemetery, Spencer, West Virginia
Glen Ray Smith was a resident of Left Hand, West Virginia
He was a retired member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 625. Charleston, West Virginia
He was a 32nd. Degree Mason and a 52 year member of the Linden Masonic Lodge No. 83, AF and AM, Linden, West Virginia
He was a member of the Beni Kedem Temple of Charleston, West Virginia and a member of the Scottish Rite, Charleston, West Virginia
