His parents were Ira Russell and Detha Dell King Prunty.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of
Valley Camp Coal Co. with 39 years' service. He was a lifelong res
ident of Kanawha County and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church,
Elkview.
Surviving: wife, Golma Prunty of Elkview; stepdaughter, Carol Furby of
Elkview; brothers, Troy of Middletown, Ohio, Denny of Charlotte, N.C.;
sisters, Retha Heater and Esther Blake, both of Burnsville, Pattie
Helmick of Fairmont; one stepgrandchild.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with
the Rev. Lee Swor and the Rev. Ray Baker officiating. Entombment will
be in Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum, Big Chimney. Friends may call from
6 to 8 p.m. today at Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview, and one hour prior
to the service at the church.
