Leota Van Gorder was the d/o Levi and Rebecca Ann Morris Murray. She married George Elliott Van Gorder
and they had 6 children: Elsie Grace (Blain), Mable (Pollock), Effie Blanche (Whitmire), Carl Murray, John A., and Paul Eugene.
She divorced George in 1925 and lived with Carl and Edna Van Gorder at their home on S Duffy Rd in Butler Twp.
They found her dead in bed on the morning of September 19, 1948.

Mrs Elizabeth Leota Van Gorder, aged 80, died last night at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs Carl Van Gorder of Butler R.D. 5.
Born in Greene County, a daughter of the Rev L.F. and Rebecca Ann Morris Murray, Mrs Van Gorder was the widow of George Elliott Van Gorder.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs J. Milton Blain of Butler; a son, John A Van Gorder of Akron, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs Van Gorder was a member of the former Institue Hill Church of God.
Friends will be received at the Dengler-Atwell Funeral Home, 137 West Jefferson Street, beginning tonight.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the funeral home, with the Rev James O Archer, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
