Mrs. Helen Watson Parlier, age 84, Deep Gap and the Davant Extended Care Facility, Blowing Rock, died Thursday morning, January 27, 2011, at Blowing Rock Hospital.

Mrs. Parlier was born October 31, 1926 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Willard C. and Ora Greer Watson. She was a homemaker and a member of Laurel Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Parlier is survived by three sons, one daughter, one step-son, and two brothers. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Boyd Parlier; a great-grandson, Joseph Greer; one brother Herbert Watson, and three sisters, Bonnie Triplett, Sally Watson, and Pansy Lewis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Watson Parlier will be conducted Sunday afternoon, January 30, 2011, at 3:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 2:00 until 3:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Brent Bolick and Reverend Andy Watson. Burial will follow in Laurel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
