Mrs. Pansy Watson Lewis, 81, of Wildcat Road, Deep Gap, died Saturday morning, Feb. 13, 2010, at Watauga Medical Center.

She was born March 31, 1928 in Deep Gap, to Willard and Ora Greer Watson.

Mrs. Lewis attended Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Her special hobbies were quilting and enjoying her flower and vegetable gardening. All knew that her home was always open to anyone.

She is survived by her daughter, two brothers, one sister, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lewis; one son, Steve Lewis; one brother, Herbert Watson; and two sisters, Bonnie Triplett and Sally Watson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2010, at 2 o'clock at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Eric Proffit and Jacob Greene. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock, one hour prior to services, at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, in care of Sid Watson, 1479 Wildcat Road, Deep Gap, N.C. 28618.
