GALESBURG _ Lillian Ruth Soukey, 95, of Galesburg died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 1991, at Americana Nursing Home in Peoria. Born Aug. 26, 1896, in Galesburg to George W. and Mary Jane Godsil Kennedy, she married Sylvester J. Soukey, who died in 1969. One son and one daughter also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter- in-law, Vera Soukey Gausdin of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at her church. The Rev. James McAteer will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. There will be no visitation. Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
