Mrs. Elizabeth Blaylock died Saturday evening at her home in Stewartsville following a stroke of paralysis. She had been in for a number of years. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Monday in the Methodist church, and interment was in the Stewartsville cemetery. Elizabeth Gardner was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Gardner. She was born at Stewartsville, Indiana on the twenty-eighth day of August Eighteen hundred and sixty-three and departed from this life on the twenty-sixth day of February, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 29 days. Her entire life has been lived in this community. She united in marriage in 1883 to Alvin P. Blaylock. He preceded her in death three years, having passed away March the 15th, 1924. To this union 8 children were born. Of this number 4 remain to mourn her loss, Mrs. Lillian Morrow, Detroit, Michigan; Miss Anna, Louis and Fred of this place. She also leaves 9 grandchildren. Mrs. Blaylock suffered a paralytic stroke more than 3 years ago and since that time has been a helpless invalid. Everything was done by her family and friends to make her suffering light. Anna has been her constant attendant. She spared no effort to make her mother's affiction bearable. She united with the Stewartsville M.E. church about 30 years ago and remained a faithful member until the end. She often remarked that she was ready to join her mother and the rest of her family, who have gone before her. She always offered a helping hand in time of sickness and need. Besides her family and a host of friends, nieces, nephews and cousins she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Maddox, of Griffin, Indiana, Mrs. Margaret Kemmerer of Allentown, Pennsylvania, one brother Mr. Henry Gardner of this place and sister-in-law Mrs. Nan Blaylock.
