Poseyville News dated March 5, 1937: Henry Gardner, 75, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday night at the home of his son, Robert Gardner, in Stewartsville. Although he had been in failing health for several months he was able to go about town. Early in the evening, he suffered a stroke of paralysis and lived only a few hours. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E. Church. The Rev. R.J. Skelton, pastor of the Patoka Methodist church, will be in charge of the services. The deceased was a native of Robb township and had lived his entire life in or near Stewartsville. For many years he lived on a farm north of there but since his retirement he had made his home in Stewartsville. Nearest surviving relatives are four children, the son with whom he lived, William Gardner, of Mishawaka, Mrs. Ross Martin, of near Cynthiana, and Mrs. Julius Kincheloe, of Stewartsville.
