Mrs. Minnie Esther White, 83, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday after a serious illness of only a few days. She had not been well for six years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, January 15, at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. White was born Feb. 14, 1868 in Muscatine County, the daughter of Van Buren and Rhoda Foster Mills. She was married to Edward J. White in September of 1884.
She was reared and educated in Muscatine County, Iowa and lived on a farm there following her marriage. Later they moved to a farm in Washington County. She has been a resident of Washington since 1914.
Mr. Edward Jourdan White died in 1921.
Survivors include six daughters: Mrs. Karl Libe, Mrs. Frank Libe, Mrs. Clyde Rouse, Mrs. Floyd Banks, all of Washington. Mrs. Don Beatty of Iowa City and Mrs. Paul Lytle of Burlington; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Cora Conklin of Des Moines; and two brothers, John Mills of Nichols, and William Mills of West Liberty, Iowa. One daughter, Mrs. Madison Jones, preceded her in death.
