ADA VIOLA CLAIBORNE was born 20 Mar 1909 in Piper, Wyandotte Co., Kansas, to James H. Claiborne and Ada Bell Perry. Ada married (1) Unknown Simcox Abt. 1930. She married (2) Daniel Stephen Liebnitz/Lieber 21 Jun 1935 in Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., Kansas, son of Max Liebnitz and ANNA HAGERTY. He was born 19 Sep 1902 in Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., Kansas, and died 24 Dec 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., Oklahoma.
Ada's mother passed away when Ada was less than one year old. It was a very difficult time for their father, James Claiborne. After four years of trying to take care of his family, he passed away when Ada was about 5-1/2 years old. After James' death, the children were sent in all directions to live with others, some with family members. It was a difficult time for the children being separated from their siblings. After they were grown, especially the four younger ones. Somehow they kept in touch with one another and visited one another after they were grown.
When Ada was in 2nd grade, a wonderful family took her in and treated her as their own child. They were Sixten and Ester Shogran. Their daughter, Martha Jo Shogran, FAG #87448773, and Ada were best friends for their lifetime. Jo passed away in 1973. Martha Jo and Ada were very close and this was a great loss for Ada.
Unable to have children of their own, Ada and her husband adopted a baby boy in Kansas City and named him Daniel William Liebnitz. When Danny was a young child, his father officially changed their families' surname to Lieber. Young Daniel was born on 05 Jan 1939, Kansas City (WYANDOTTE) Kansas and he was adopted soon after his birth; he married Mary Ellen Fallwell on 27 May 1960 in Oklahoma City (OKLAHOMA) Oklahoma; Mary was born 28 Aug 1941 in Oklahoma City (OKLAHOMA) Oklahoma. To this union was born two children: Karen Diane and Stephen Daniel Lieber. These grandchildren were such a great joy to Ada and Daniel.
Ada's husband, Daniel, passed away on December 24, 1983, and this was a another big loss for her. Ada's adopted son, Danny, died on 11 Aug 1999, in Oklahoma City just a year before his mother's death.
After the death of her son, in order to give Ada proper care, Ada was moved from a nursing home in Oklahoma City to Van Buren, Arkansas, so she would be near her granddaughter who was a registered nurse. Ada passed away in the nursing home in Van Buren on August 7, 2000 at the age of 91 years and 4 months. She is so very missed by her loved ones.
