William Henry Woll was born on January 29, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland. Son of William J. Woll and Theresa M. Kremer, he was the brother of Theodore William, Theresa Mary, Edward Patrick, Loretta Florence, James Lawrence, Donald Theodore, Bernard William, Harold Joseph, and Patricia (Sister M. Aniceta, IHM).
William served as a Private First Class, 511th Parachute Infantry Regt, 11th Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II.
He resided in Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on September 18, 1941, prior to the war, in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Skilled mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.
William "Died Of Wounds" received in action during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
