Edward P. Woll Sr., 89, of 115 Spruce St., passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.


He was born April 27, 1920, in Baltimore, a son of the late William and Theresa (Kremer) Woll. He was married for 63 years to the former Ida M. Green, who survives.


Edward proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1942 until 1945. He was a veteran of World War II.


He was employed in the machine shop at Kennedy Van Saun, Danville, retiring in 1982.


Edward was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church, Danville, and a member of the Union County Beagle Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Friendship Fire Company, all of Danville.


In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward P. Woll Jr., of Strausstown, and William Woll, of Bloomsburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and William Mosser, of Danville; four grandchildren, Bryan James, Daryn James, Rebecca Walck and Adam Woll; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sister Patricia Woll, I.H.M., of Marywood.


He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy Woll; six brothers; and two sisters.


Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Brady Funeral Home, Danville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Church, 18 E. Center St., Danville, with his pastor, the Rev. Steven Fauser, as celebrant.


Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
