Bernard William "Bernie" Woll was born on November 4, 1926, in Danville, Pennsylvania. Son of William J. Woll and Theresa M. Kremer, he was the brother of Theodore William, Theresa Mary, William Henry, Edward Patrick, Loretta Florence, James Lawrence, Donald Theodore, Harold Joseph, and Patricia (Sister M. Aniceta, IHM). He served in the US Army during WWII. Bernie married Mary Theresa McFadden on July 15, 1950 in McAdoo, PA, and they were the parents of Bernie, Jr., Marcella, Patrick, Michael and Joseph. He died on January 3, 2007 at Grandview Health Care Center in Danville, and was buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Danville, PA.


"Danville - Bernard W. "Bernie" Wll, 80, of Spruce St., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Grandview Health Care Center in Danville.

He was born Nov. 4, 1926 in Danville, son of the late William and Theresa (Kreamer sic) Woll. He was married to the former Mary McFadden for 56 years.

Bernard was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a drill instructor in the 82nd Airborne. He was employed at Merck in Riverside for 39 yeas as a chemical operator, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Danville.

Bernie was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and was a well-known mason in Danville, helping to build the East End Fire Company and the old Eagles building.

Bernie's greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He was an avid gardener and boxing fan and enjoyed traveling and going to the beach.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one daughter, and son-in-law, Marcella and Gary of Danville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard, Jr. and Joseph and fiancee, Loretta, all of Danville; Patrick and Julie and Michael and Kathleen, all of Riverside; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Sister Patricia, I.H.M.; and one brother, Edward of Danville.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Theresa Talone and Loretta Linthicum, and five brothers, William, Theodore, Donald, Harold and James."
