Orville Craver
Orville (Bud) Craver, 83, of Exline died Monday, March 6, 2000, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.
He was born Dec. 28, 1916, near Exline, the son of Ernest and Clara (Messer) Craver.
He married Bernice McCoy July 12, 1941, in Unionville, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Oneita Porter and her husband, David, of Long Grove, Ill.; two sisters, Irene Anderson of Rockford, Ill. and Freda Miller and her husband, Jake, of Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, Clyde Craver of Centerville; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Noah and Claude; and a sister, Wilma.
He was a member of the Sharon Chapel Community Church in rural Centerville and Local 767 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He spent his working years as a form builder on highways and bridges and as a coal miner.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Johnson-Lange Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Chapel Cemetery southeast of Centerville. A visitation will be held all day today, Wednesday, and Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Sharon Chapel Cemetery Association and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
