Iva Bernice Craver passsed away on August 5, 2021 at the age of 98.

Bernice was a lifelong member of the methodist church in Exline and Charon Chapel in Rural Centerville. She also attended the Exline Christian Church. She loved playing the piano and singing for church.

Bernice had a 33 year career with US Bank in Centerville where she handled the investment banking, and rose to the office of Senior Vice President. She also taught banking courses for several years.

She served as postmistress of the Exline Post Office in her earlier years. She was a substitute teacher in the Exline School, a member of the School Board and served on the City Council. Bernice taught Sunday school and many Vacation Bible Schools over the years.

Bernice and Bud's home was always welcoming babies and young children whose parents couldn't care for them temporarily. They would take care of them until the parents were able to take them home.

Bernice was raised on the McCoy family farm in rural Centerville, daughter of Iva Swan McCoy and Taylor McCoy. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Orville "Bud" Craver, her four sisters, Inez Banks, Irene Crow, Pearl Shanahan, and Ruth Benz; a brother, Lester McCoy; as well as her only grandchild, Peggi Francis Huiskins.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Neta Craver Porter and son-in-law, David Linsay Porter of Long Grove, Illinois.

Bernice was greatly loved by many and will be very missed by all!

A private graveside service will be held at Sharon Chapel Cemetery, just outside of Centerville. Memorials have been established to Sharon Chapel Cemetery Association, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Craver family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
