G. Irene Anderson
G. Irene Anderson, age 99, of Rockford, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at the Rosewood Care Center in Rockford.
She was born Sept. 16, 1906 in Centerville, the daughter of Earnest Vest and Clara Arthelia (Messer) Craver. She received her education in the rural schools of Appanoose County.
On Aug. 12, 1926 she married Walter M. Anderson in Belvidere, Ill. She was formerly employed in the coffee shop at the Swedish American Hospital, in Rockford, and as a cafeteria aide with Rockford public schools. She was a longtime and loyal member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in Rockford, Ill. She enjoyed many travels with her family.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter, on Feb. 5, 1949; three brothers, Noah, Claude and Orville (Bud) Craver; and one sister, Wilma Love.
Survivors include one son, Charles Richard (Dick) Anderson of Rockford, Ill.; and two daughters, Doris Jean Anderson of Reno, Nev., and Mary Kay and her husband Woody Ormsby of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one brother, Clyde Craver of Centerville; and one sister, Freda Miller of Jefferson City, Mo.
A private family memorial service was held with burial in the Willwood Burial Park in Rockford. Ill., on Aug. 3.
Memorials can be made to the Broadway United Methodist Church, 1503 Broadway in Rockford, Ill.
