Ida Mae Clark, of New Madrid, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Golden Living Nursing Center in New Madrid.

Born April 19, 1922 in Cottonwood Point, she is the daughter of the late Jesse David Abbott and Vernie Nile Potter Abbott. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Abbott and Joseph Abbott.

Ida was united in marriage to D. L. Clark in August of 1939. He preceded her in death in February of 2000.

Mrs. Ida and her husband lived in Cottonwood Point throughout their lives where they ran a grocery store. She was a member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.

Mrs. Clark leaves her children: Dorsey Clark and his wife Brenda of Mountain Grove, Peggy Knipper and her husband Adrain of Jackson, Tenn., and Phyllis Dean and her husband Robert of Apopka, Fla.; Four grandchildren: Keven Knipper, Rhonda Wilson, Andrea Dean VanScoyoc and Robert Clark Dean; Five
great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Chelsea Knipper and Joshua, Katie and Clark Dean; and Five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clark were held Monday, April 7, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Dr. Adrain Knipper officiating.

Burial was at the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville.
