J. E. (Ernie) Anderson, 63, 636 Polk SW, retired employee of the Mason City Brick & Tile Co., died Sunday at a Mason City hospital. He had lived in Mason City 40 years and was employed by the Mason City Brick and Tile Co. 15 years.
Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 18, 1898, in Pike County, OH, son of James and Sarah (Lock) Anderson. He was married to Elsie Mae Statzer, Oct 1, 1924, in Albert Lea, Minn.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Donald, Harold, Daniel, Jimmy and Kenneth, all of Mason City; three daughters, Mrs. Herb (Doris) Coleman, Mason City, and Barbara and Norma, at home; and 14 grandchildren.
Four sisters, Allie Larson, Perthamboy, N. J.; Myrtle Grimm and Edna Bresley, both of Downers Grove, Ill, and Dorothy Elder, Lockport, Ill.; and six brothers, Raymond, Elmer and Charles, all of Downers Grove Ill.; Donald, Lockport, Ill.; Virgil, Lemont, Ill., and Orville, in Oklahoma, also survive.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by three brothers and one grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call at the Patterson-James Chapel after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
