MASON CITY - Elsie M. Anderson, 86, formerly of 636 S. Polk Ave. died Sunday (Feb. 13, 1994) at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church, 318 N. Adams Ave. with the Rev. Paul Boostrom officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Fullerton Patterson-James Funeral Chapel, 123 Second St. S.E. and will continue on hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa in memory of Elsie.
Elsie was born Aug. 5, 1907 in Mason City to Everett L. and Ada A. (Dean) Statzer. She married John Ernest Anderson on Oct 1, 1924 in Albert Lea, Minn.
She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her hobbies, which included knitting and crocheting afghans for her grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by five sons and three daughters, Donald "Bud" Anderson and wife, Alice, Mason City, Harold "Andy" Anderson and wife Loretta, Mason City, Dan Anderson and wife JoAnn, Clear Lake, Jim Anderson and wife Mary, Fertile, Ken Anderson and wife Ruth, Mason City, Doris (Mrs. Herb) Coleman, Mason City, Barbara (Mrs. John) Davisson, Charlotte, N.C., and Norma (Mrs. Jerome) Farrell, Mason City, two brothers, Harold "Tine" and Dean Statzer, both of Mason City; two sisters, Alma Wilkinson, Dodgeville, Wis., Evelyn Wise, Hampton; 27 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
