She was married to John Coner (1896-1981).

Elma Lee (Garner) Coner, 87, W. Hwy. 80 passed away Thursday May 2, 2002 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born September 13, 1914 in Nancy, KY., a daughter of the late C. P. Pratt Garner and Sarah (Weddle) Garner. She was a loving mother and devoted Christian, She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Chesterview Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons; John D. (and Eleanor) Coner, Linville D. (and Betty) Coner, Ronald Lee (and Debby) Coner, Robert W. (and Sue) Coner and David B. (and Judy) Coner, all of Franklin, IN., three daughters; Joyce (and Jim) Thompson, Trafalgar, IN., Norma (and Roy) Frye and Janice (and Paul) Dye, both of Nancy, KY., 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; John Coner whom she married in November 1935 in Nancy, KY. and who passed away August 9, 1981, four brothers; Tom, Chester, Minnie and Galen Garner, one sister; Thelma Turpin and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday may 5, 2002 at Chesterview Baptist Church with Brother Bobby Clark, Brother Daniel Harper, Brother Merrill Crockett and Brother Harlan Avera, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chesterview Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 P. M. Saturday May 4, 2002 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home
