John Coner, 84, Nancy, died Sunday, August 9 at his home after a two-year illness.
The son of Joe and Ruth Cook Coner, he was born September 10, 1896, in the Shady Grove community.
He was married November 30, 1935, in the Oil Center community to the former Elma Garner.
He was a retired railroad employee after 32 years of service and moved here from Detroit, Michigan after his retirement. He was as member of the Railroad Association.
Survivors are his wife, Elma; five sons, David Coner, Nancy, John D., Linville, Ronald and Robert Coner, all of Franklin, Indiana; three daughters, Joyce Thompson, Franklin, Indiana, Norma Jean Frye and Janice Dye, both of Nancy; two sisters, May Stigall, Ohio, and Lela Compton, Somerset, and 13 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Ed, Fred and Earl Coner, and a grandchild.
He was a member of the Chesterview Baptist Church, where Elder Walter Jones and Bro. Harlan Avera, St., will conduct services tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Chesterview Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
