Ira Lyon, son of Edwin and Elizabeth Lyon was born Jan. 29, 1880 near Plano, Iowa and died at his home northwest of Plano, Nov. 19, 1951 at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Goldie Quigley at Centerville, Iowa Jan. 22, 1905. To this union six children were born: Esther Carman, preceded him in death in 1926; Edwin Wayne, Iris, Irene, Maude and Joe. Mr. Lyon lived in the Plano Community for 71 years. He was a member of the Plano Church of Christ. Those left to mourn his loss are sons: Edwin Wayne of Luray, Missouri; Joe of Newberg, Oregon; daughters, Iris Helman of Salem, Oregon; Irene Statler of Newberg, Oregon; and Maude Schroeder of San Beranino, California; sisters: Mary Kirkland of Los Angeles, California; Esther Wyrick of Rearnidale, Michigan; Nellie Lyon of Centerville, Iowa; Maude Haines of Plano; brothers: Fred of Benton, Arkansas; Harry deceased in 1921; Jay of Plano; and Arthur of Yakima, Washington. Funeral was held at the Plano Church of Christ, George W. Swan officiating. Burial in the Lyon Family Cemetery.
